According to the CBL (Central Bank of Liberia) 2018 report, food importation is a billion USD market every 2 years. That is ½ a billion per year. The importers are primarily Lebanese, Indians and Chinese businessmen operating in the country.

Rice, which is the staple food for all Liberian, makes up 40%. It is a 200 million dollars industry. Poultry products, sugar, flour etc. accounts for 60%. Even though most of the farmers in Liberia are subsistence farmers, there are still few who products more than they can consume.

With this evidence base report, the Liberia Agriculture for National Development (LAND) want to enough all Liberian to invest more in Agriculture in order to develop our country thought Economic growth and economic development.
